So, there's this movie called "Kill Me I'm Irish." It's a thriller set in New York during St. Patrick's Day. Apparently, it’s about a detective who's been hunting a serial killer who targets Irish women. Sounds kinda dark, I guess. The luck of the Irish runs out or something. So, there's this PG-13 horror movie from 2019 that some people say is one of the best gateway horror films ever. I guess it’s supposed to be a good introduction to the genre or whatever. Not that I'm super excited about it or anything. It's just there, kind of blending in with all the other films. If you’re looking for something to watch, maybe give it a try. Or don’t. The Superstition Mountains are known for their legends, especially the story of the Lost Dutchman Mine. Over 600 people have died trying to find it, which is kind of unsettling. Jacob Waltz’s tale is still talked about, but honestly, it’s just another story that adds to the mystery. Not sure why so many people risk it all for something that might not even exist. Aztec human sacrifice was just part of their whole religious deal. They thought it was necessary to appease the gods, like, to keep the sun shining or whatever. Temples were the go-to places for these rituals, especially Templo Mayor. They believed that giving up human lives would bring them good harvests and victories. Seems pretty intense for a society just trying to keep things running smoothly. It’s hard to imagine that this was seen as a spiritual exchange rather than just plain brutality. Anyway, it’s a part of their history that doesn’t really excite me much.

So, “Crystal Lake” is still filming, and now they’ve cast Callum Vinson from “Chucky” as Jason Voorhees. I mean, that’s cool, I guess? A24 and Peacock keep adding names to the lineup, like Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees. It’s nice, but I’m not sure how exciting this really is. Just another prequel in a long line of them. Anyway, if you care about Friday the 13th, maybe this will be interesting for you. Or not.
