As we prepare to colonize Mars, the question on everyone's lips seems to be: "Can humans safely have children there?" Because, clearly, the most pressing concern about interplanetary travel is not the radiation exposure or the lack of breathable air, but whether little Martians will need their own crib. Forget the fact that two-thirds of human embryos don’t even survive the rollercoaster ride of Earth’s own atmosphere! Let’s just shoot for the stars and hope for a cosmic baby boom. After all, what could possibly go wrong with giving birth 140 million miles from a decent hospital? Can’t wait to see those “I survived childbirth on Mars” T-shirts.
