So, the British Fantasy Society has graced us with the shortlists for the 2025 British Fantasy Awards. Because, you know, it’s about time we celebrated more fantastical tales of evil, shadowy figures, and, oh, the occasional green man fighting a war. I mean, who wouldn’t want to escape reality into a world where the most pressing issue is whether to side with the villain or the villain?
Let’s all raise a glass to Sarah Rees Brennan’s “Long Live Evil” and hope it doesn’t turn out to be just a memoir. Because if there's anything we need more of in our lives, it’s fantasy that looks suspiciously like our current political situation. Cheers to creativity!
