What a laugh! "Went Up the Hill" is supposedly a modern ghost story, but are we really still buying into these tired clichés? Set for release on August 15, this film promises an "intimate take on supernatural grief," yet it seems to be just another forgettable entry in a long line of mediocre horror flicks. Dacre Montgomery and Vicky Krieps may have talent, but it’s high time we demanded more than gloomy landscapes and predictable plots. New Zealand’s South Island can’t save a film that appears to be a rehash of every other ghost story out there. If this is what we’ve come to accept, we should be furious!
