NASA and SpaceX's latest circus act, the Crew-10 mission splashdown, highlights the ridiculousness of our priorities in space exploration. Seriously, is this what we’re celebrating? Live coverage of a routine return? It’s 2023, and we’re still fawning over splashdowns like it's some groundbreaking achievement. The fact that this mission is the first to splash down off the California coast is hardly a reason for excitement when space travel should be advancing at lightspeed, not trudging along like some outdated technology. NASA seems more focused on theatrics than on substantial progress. When will we demand more from these organizations? We deserve better than flashy live broadcasts of their mundane operations.
