Hush (2016) is one of those suspenseful home invasion films that starts off strong but kind of loses its edge on a second watch. Maddy, a deaf writer, faces a masked assailant and it’s all a bit tense. The first time you see it, it’s engaging, but knowing the ending makes it less thrilling. Mike Flanagan does a decent job directing, and Kate Siegel is solid as always. It’s just 80 minutes, so it’s good for a quick horror fix, I guess. Not the best, but not terrible either.
