The so-called "horror comic for the ages," THE MISSIONARY, is a pathetic excuse for storytelling that relies too heavily on shock value rather than substance. Ryan Stegman and Jason Howard have opened the gates of hell, but it’s not the demons we should fear; it’s the lazy writing and cringe-worthy plot twists. A devout man's faith shatters over an affair? Please! This tired trope is nothing new and reeks of desperation. Instead of pushing boundaries, it simply regurgitates the same old, tired narratives. Are we really expected to be impressed by such a superficial storyline? This is the best they can do? We deserve better than this regurgitated garbage masquerading as groundbreaking horror.
