  • So, there's this show called "The Ghost Town Terror." It's about a dude ranch, you know, one of those places where you can supposedly own a piece of land with cabins and a saloon. It's tucked away in the mountains and forests of the American Southwest. Sounds nice, I guess.

The whole premise revolves around Karen Broussard, who seems to have some kind of adventure or something. She’s probably the one who decided it’d be cool to own a ranch. Like, who wouldn’t want to hang out in a ghost town filled with old buildings and maybe some spooky vibes? But honestly, do we really need another show about someone trying to make a haunted place into a tourist attraction? It feels like they’re just dragging the same old concept around again.

I mean, I get it. The idea of exploring a ghost town could be intriguing for some people. There’s something mystical about abandoned places, and they usually come with stories of the past, which could be interesting. But then again, it’s just another TV show trying to mix reality with a bit of paranormal stuff. I guess if you’re into that kind of thing, it’s fine.

In the end, I can’t help but feel a bit indifferent about it. There’s only so much excitement you can muster up about ghost towns and ranches. Maybe it’ll have some thrilling moments, or maybe it’ll just be the same old thing we’ve seen a million times before. Not sure if I’m ready to invest my time in it, but hey, if you’re bored enough, it might fill a gap in your viewing schedule.

So, if you feel like watching something that might be mildly entertaining or just want to see some old buildings and hear ghost stories, you could check out "The Ghost Town Terror." But if you’re looking for something groundbreaking, you might want to keep scrolling.

  • So, apparently, "Bigfoot Skepticism" is becoming a thing now. I mean, it's kind of amusing how people are starting to take this whole skeptical thing seriously. Like, who knew dowsing would get so much attention lately? I guess when water companies are using dowsing rods, it makes people think twice about what they believe. It's kind of sad, really, how some folks still cling to these superstitions.

I've been in the skepticism game for a while, since 2009, actually. I remember giving talks about dowsing at paranormal conferences. It was... interesting, I guess? Now everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon, which is fine. But honestly, it feels a bit like a slow realization that should have happened years ago.

You’d think people would understand that using dowsing to find water or detect bombs isn't exactly reliable. It’s like watching someone use a Magic 8-Ball to make life decisions. But, hey, at least more people are aware of the ridiculousness surrounding these practices. I mean, when you see ghost hunters waving around dowsing rods, you can’t help but shake your head.

But here’s the thing: being skeptical about Bigfoot, or dowsing, or whatever else, doesn’t really change the minds of those who are deep into these beliefs. It’s almost like a never-ending cycle of pointing out the obvious. Sure, amplifying the nonsense is important, but it just feels like shouting into the void sometimes.

And let’s be real, next time someone tries to tell you that ghosts are real or that debunking Bigfoot is a waste of time, it’s probably better just to nod and move on. Some battles just aren’t worth fighting, you know?

So, here we are in this weird moment where "Bigfoot Skepticism" is cool or whatever. It’s good to see some awareness, I guess, but it’s all a bit underwhelming.

  • Hey everyone.

It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned anything here, and honestly, I’m not sure why I even bothered. Anyway, let’s just get to it. You probably remember when GhostTheory first started back in 2006. I was living in Los Angeles, just trying to find something interesting to write about. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now… who knows?

Sometimes I think about those early days. Writing was kind of fun back then, but now there’s this feeling of just going through the motions. I guess that’s life, right? You start with excitement and then it just becomes a routine.

So, yeah, here we are. It’s nice to connect with you, the reader, even if it feels a bit stale. I mean, we could talk about the blog, the themes, maybe even the ghosts. But honestly, does it even matter? I don’t know.

I guess I should probably share something interesting, but my mind is just blank. I could reminisce about some past posts or the ideas that never really took off, but that just sounds tiring. There’s so much out there in the world, yet here we are, stuck in this little corner of the internet talking about… well, nothing really.

If you’re still reading this, thanks for that, I guess. It’s kind of like watching paint dry, but hey, at least you’re here. We’ve all got our reasons for sticking around, even if they’re not very exciting.

In the end, it might be time for us to have a real conversation about where we’re headed. Or maybe not. Who knows? It’s all a bit too much to think about right now.

Anyway, I’ll leave it here. Just wanted to say something, even if it was a bit uninspired.

  • I recently came across a movie called "Presence," and, honestly, I didn't feel much excitement about it. The teaser trailer had that typical horror vibe, which made me think of "Poltergeist." You know the drill: a family moves into a suburban house and realizes they’re not alone. It’s the kind of plot that has been done a million times, and yet, here I am, still vaguely curious.

I mean, I had completely forgotten about this movie until I saw it pop up again somewhere. That’s how thrilling my life has been lately—totally forgettable. Anyway, I guess the idea is that this family is haunted or something. Yawn. It’s like they’re waiting for something spooky to happen, and I’m just here waiting for something interesting to actually pull me in.

The description hints at a ghost story that maybe needed a trigger warning. Not that I’m particularly affected by that sort of thing, but it does make you think. I wonder if the filmmakers really thought about how much we’ve seen this kind of story before. Are they trying to shock us, or is it more of the same? I can’t say I’m eager to find out.

You’d think after all these years, horror movies would evolve past the “moving into a haunted house” trope. But here we are again. I suppose there’s comfort in the familiar, even if it’s kind of boring.

I can't help but feel like this movie, "Presence," will just blend in with all the other horror flicks that come and go. The trailers might look spooky, but does it really matter in the end? I guess I’ll probably end up watching it out of sheer boredom, but I can't promise I'll care much about it.

Everything just feels so repetitive, you know? It’s not like I’m expecting a masterpiece here. Just another ghost story that probably won’t scare me. Maybe that's what keeps me watching—hoping for a surprise, but being prepared for disappointment.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for something to watch and you stumble upon "Presence," it might be worth a casual glance. Or not. Who knows? Just like the movie itself, my enthusiasm is pretty much nonexistent.

Presence: A ghost story that needed a trigger warning?
When the teaser trailer for Presence was released, I wondered what kind of horror movie it would be. The brief synopsis brought to mind Poltergeist: “A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone.” I’d

  • This year, Kacie and I decided to revisit that spooky place in the woods on San Juan Island. You know, the mausoleum with the ghost stories and all that. We've been hearing about it for a while now, but honestly, the excitement just wasn't there. I mean, it’s just a mausoleum, right?

We arrived after dark, and, of course, I forgot my flashlight. Great. So, we hesitated at the trailhead, looking into the dark woods, wondering if it was worth it. But then a few people came out from the trail, and I thought, “If they can do it, I guess we can too.” So, we trudge on, slowly making our way through the darkness.

The path was kind of eerie, winding through an old graveyard. The graves looked creepy, surrounded by rod iron fences, and I snapped a few photos because, why not? Eventually, we reached the mausoleum, which is actually quite impressive, especially how it glows at sunset. But at night, it just felt... spooky.

Inside, it was even more unsettling. There’s a big stone table with six chairs, each one holding the remains of the McMillen family. I mean, how often do you sit at a table with the dead? Kind of weird, right? It’s hard to appreciate the history when you’re just standing there trying to figure out whether or not you’re going to run into a ghost. I looked for those flying ghosts everyone talks about, but didn’t see any. Not that I expected to, but still, the idea was there.

After a while, Kacie was busy taking her photos, and I thought I’d record some questions for any ghosts that might be lurking around. It was supposed to be about finding the flying ghosts, but it all felt a bit pointless. We knew we couldn’t stay long, especially since it was past closing time.

On the way back, it was even darker. At one point, I thought I saw something moving in the shadows and screamed a little. Turns out it was just my shadow. So, yeah, that’s how my night went.

In the end, we made it back to the car without any ghostly encounters, and my recordings didn’t pick up anything either. Maybe next time we’ll actually go after midnight with a flashlight. I don’t know.

Just another spooky night in the woods, I guess.
